Graduation Day
Today was our final day at Makers Academy! The final step in our 12 week bootcamp was to present our final project to a crowd of Makers, employers, friends and family.
Morning Prep
We got into the office early this morning so we would have time to practice our presentation together. We ran through it, made our notes, and prepared ourselves for the real thing. It was really useful having this time, and we spent it all wisely…

Graduation Time
We walked over to the other Makers office ready to do our presentation. The event started at 12:15 with an introduction for us Makers, and a congratulations!

At 12:30, the other team presented their idea first, then we presented ours.

Both presentations went really well and were really well received. It was a relief after so much hard work to actually present the idea and be able to show people it in action. Afterwards we had some pizza and beer, and that was it, we had graduated from Makers. Of course there’s still almost a year left on the apprenticeship, but our time at Makers had come to an end. We did receive a lovely parting gift from them

Now, we have a long weekend before we officially start our jobs. It’ll be weird going back to the office now, feels like I’ve been gone forever!
My Time at Makers
My time here at Makers Academy has been amazing, I’ve really loved every second of it. I’ve learned so much, going from knowing nothing at all about coding, to creating a full web app in just 12 weeks is incredible. I’m so glad that I made the leap into software development, and that Tesco supported me in the process.
I would absolutely recommend Makers as a place to learn for anybody considering moving into this world, and I am truly sad that my time there has come to an end.

Congratulations to everyone else who was in the March cohort with me, everyone did so well!
